A new truck bed

The last two days have been looong. We are tryin so hard to get in the road but our list keeps growing. Yesterday and today we worked in the bed of the truck. As much as I loved the feeling of complete mortification when people saw me getting out of this...

We still decided to build a bed.

Let me just say it was not for the faint of heart! So much work, thinking, rethinking, lowes runs...

My favorite part was the instant gratification from some spray paint (you can see a bit in the previous picture)

I actually did my fair share in this project and am quite proud if it all:)

During a lowes run when work stopped the girls came and used it as a dance floor.

Oh so slowly coming along...

Thinking some more...

It was not all fun and games! We had to remove a floor board to reach the bolts for the fifth wheel hitch. This whole part was sooo difficult.

Almost finished!!!

Roberts hands were completely black once he finished this part of reattaching the gas lines.

A little help to attach the hitch. This thing is a monster and very heavy. When they put it up it didn't line up at first and took a bit of finagling until it finally fell into place. It had us very scared for a minute (or five) that we installed the rails and flat bed incorrectly!

After a full day of that almost non-stop. Robert and I were exhausted. And since I had been helping the while time it was chick-fil a in the car for dinner and one more trip to lowes.

Also you'll have to wait til tomorrow for the full truck shot :)

  1. 1. Honestly, the before truck picture is mortifying :).
    2. I'm not saying this to be trite, I really men it (and have lived it) ... You never enjoy something as much as when you've worked so hard for it .... That whole blood, sweat, and tears thing is true!
    3. When people see you enjoying the good things, they rarely understand the work that went into it!
