My new old couch

I bought this couch a few weeks ago at an estate sale... Which led to the lady calling me back and offering the church anything left... Which led to the new home owners saying the same thing... Which led to a stove, fridge, upright freezer, washer, dryer, wardrobe, lawn chairs, and blinds for free for the new house! Oh and maybe a sink, clothes line, fencing... You get the idea :)

Anyway, while I liked the new couch I had an idea and started ripping the skirt off today to mom's admonishment that Now I wouldn't be able to hide anything :)

The after is amazing and now I LOVE IT! It was hiding some amazing legs under that long skirt. It must have been a fundie couch lol:) #oldpaths

House ideas

I'm so anxious to be able to make the house our home. But mostly I just pin ideas I find...  I've got enough ideas for five houses...

36 weeks

Last week at 36 weeks. I was feeling all sorts of emotional that morning. Happy, sad, weepy, laughing... Ahh pregnacy :p

Our tiny cottage

Last (last) week at 35 weeks. --I just realized this wasn't published when I tried last week. -- Two days before this was a foundation only. I can't wait to post tomorrow's picture of all that's been done!

Also because all this happens at night I'm usually pinning my little heart out at bedtime to occupy myself. Here are some conflicting ideas running thru my head...

So I do go with the eclectic, vintage collected feel or do I opt for simplicity? They both appeal to me for completely different reasons.

Charlottle mason planner

I've miss posting and reading posts. And as is our trend, we don't start posting until someone starts up again :). So since this is my first year officially homeschooling I though I would start with a YouTube video of my new planner. I've fallen in love with the charlotte mason method of teaching and we are having fun learning to implement it into our lives.

We use our little school room for a few hours each morning and aside from working on activities for charlotte it is fun!

I've decided to use a sabbath approach to schooling that I read about. School for six weeks and then a one (or however long) break. So we started last week, giving us something to do as we wait for house and baby:)

I wanted a planner but couldn't find one that I liked enough or could afford so I made one!  This cost me all of $3.50 to make (for the binding) it's been fun to play teacher again without all the bad/horrible bits lol:)

A few people asked to see inside so I did a quick YouTube video:

Getting ready...

MNothing like the promise of a visit from mom to give me some motivation to get the rv back in order. For the last five months everything has been on code red staus: if it isn't absolutely nessisary then it doesn't get done.

But it feels so good to get things organized again.

Here is what my cabinet looks like when I get material out.  Well I posted this on IG and a friend suggested ziplock bags.

It was awesome! Every once in a while I'll fold and organize all my fabric but it only lasts a few weeks. This is life changing! And I was able to consolidate it into two bags so everything fits much better. (Girls activity bags on the left)

My favorite section that I organized! This had become such a jumble of paper, lines of grace stuff, crafts and my sewing machine that I couldn't get out without risking all the paper piles tipping.

Now... My amazing art/journaling area. I had all this in a bag and each time I did journaling or painted it was such a headache to put away. Now it's so easy to just open and work for a few minutes.
