For my 30th birthday rob facilitated a craft weekend that was AMAZING! I've been struggling for awhile with not having friends that share my interests and are in my season of life. It feel a little lonely and isolated. So as odd as it all happened this was such a balm to my soul.
Most of the ladies that came I've known online for a few years and some I've just recently met on Instagram or a crafty mama group on Facebook. I had only ever met one of them (took her family pictures a few years in a row). One from Canada, 2 from Alabama, 2 from West Virginia , 2 from Baltimore and 1 from pa. It took all of two hours to really connect and so refreshing for all of us.
We crafted for hours, stayed up talkng til 3 and 4 in the morning, slept late, ate delicious food and formed amazing friendships. It has been declared that this is now a must do year event and the next two are already planned. Winter in Alabama and then next in Canada :)
Never once was there any awkwardness, cliques, or cattiness (y'all know that amiracle with 9 women in the house;) and I cried when I dropped off the two sisters and their babies at the airport on Sunday morning. I showed up for church with puffy eyes and smeared mascara. Keepin it classy:)

Looks like a very fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteBreakfast looked awesome! Love all the babies and especially the bunting outside over the door. What kinds of things did you make?
