Things to do to avoid packing

Making bagels for the trip and Robert.  This recipe is soaked so it is definitely a lesson in patience for a three-year-old helper._MG_7293_MG_7295

When mom told me Lesli’s church was going to have a shower when we were there, I completely disregarded my list and started a project that was slightly larger than a day-before-the-day-before-we-leave project should have been – But hey I had to represent! =)  I just finished it and oh my…I think I’m keeping it!

This tip helped the project go MUCH faster:  I turned a spool of Serger thread over and put regular spool down in it…that way I didn’t have to change the thread at all.  I also wounds 4 bobbins before I started.

The girls each got a Easter card from Grandma Mickey and LOVED the stickers.  In about five minutes I was covered in them.

We made a quick trip to TJ for some traveling snacks and stopped by Ross to look for an Easter top for me.  While waiting for the bathroom for Bella I saw this amazing stock pot.  It was huge (about three times the one I have now), great color and enamel…I didn’t want to look at the price because I knew it would be $50 or something.  I was so happy when I saw $16.00!  And then she took off 15% because it had some chips (which I love because it gives it that vintage look.) I even think Lesli’s chickens would have plenty of room in this one.

  1. Yes, you don't want to look bad at the shower! Are you always as sweet as you look in that stock pot picture??

  4. I think you should put both our names on the shower gift so we can both look good.

  5. I was going to look into getting a larger stock pot. They have a little Amish general store down the road. It has HUGE stock pots. I was going to look at them when ya'll came, but I am sure they won't be that price. you can tell me what your's is made of when you come.

  6. Oh my, that stock pot is awesome! I burned a double batch of broccoli cheddar soup in mine and could not clean it up so now I don't even ave one ... Sniff, sniff. Bagels look delish! Maybe you could give her the gift at the shower (to look good, you know), and then take it back home afterwards ... Win, win, for you, anyway :)
