In preparation for the fall Piney Orchard yard sale I went through every piece of clothing that the girls owned. I took every thing that was too stained or worn out to save and knitted it into a rug for their play corner. I would rather have crocheted it but I couldn’t find my big needle (Sheila did I let Emma borrow it?) It turned out smaller (knitting makes it much thicker) than I had hoped, but a great way to use the clothes rather than throw them out
On a much, much happier note… Bella is getting good enough at washing dishes to do it on her own!!! Pause while Melissa sings the Hallelujah chorus. She is happy, I am happy. We all win and end the day with a clean kitchen!

Where are Bella's clothes?
ReplyDeleteOh, I miss Piney Orchard! Love the rug. Not that I didn't like the crocheted one, but I like this one better. I like how it looks thicker. How long did it take you and how did you do it?
ReplyDeleteShe is a hippie. She doesn't need clothes :)!
ReplyDelete1. I'm with Lesli on the look of the knitted rug and I LOVE the fact you reused their clothes for it.
ReplyDelete2. Yes, Emma is still working on the rug with your hook. We'll get right on that :)
3. Funny thing about the same age but different birth order. Clara is on my lap right now getting her love cup filled. I would never dream of having her do the dishes :)
It took me two mornings working on and off. I cut strips about 1-2 inches thick and cut slits in the end to join together.
ReplyDeleteOur girls are so messy when they eat that unless someone is there they eat without a shirt:) No hurry Sheila I was just wondering where it was
I'm LOVING these posts!!! :)
