Tonight I was out working in the garden. Some of the boxes were rotten so they had to be replaced. A lot of the dirt was gone too so Bella and Cecelia climbed in and had a ball. Where does all the dirt go anyway?

Then I started pulling weeds in a box that we hadn’t started using yet. And what to my wondering eye should appear but potatoes!!!! I was so excited=) What fun when you think they are just junk weeds.
Only in Andrea's garden! A few years ago, Sheila and I had put so much work in to our gardens that particular year and weren't getting a thing from them. Andrea hadn't really put(by her own admission) much work into her garden that year. One evening we were there for dinner and she said, "Oh, I have a bunch of nice lettuce we can use for the salad." She hadn't even planted the lettuce...it just "came up" from seeds that had fallen the year before. Her garden grows with no help!
ReplyDeleteYes no work potatoes! I used that box to dump compost from David's when the chickens were loose. They would get in the box eat and fertilize so I guess maybe they missed a potato??? It was so neat I want to plant them next year!

ReplyDeleteLove the potatoes! Yes only in Andrea's 'It just happens' garden. We've had grape toms a couple of years, last year I grew a papaya tree til the frost killed it.
